Providing Stability So Students Can Rise

About The PDD Housing Initiative

Our Mission

The Professional Doctorate Degree (PDD) Housing Initiative helps provide secure, stable housing support to students of color pursuing professional doctorate degrees, enabling them to focus on their education and future careers, without the burden of housing insecurity.

Despite their academic excellence and future societal impact, many of these students face significant financial and housing barriers that threaten their ability to persist and thrive in their programs. Rising rent costs, tuition burdens, and lack of generational wealth disproportionately affect under-represented students, creating a crisis of stability during some of the most demanding years of their education.

The PDD Housing Initiative provides direct housing assistance of up to $1500 per month per student for one year, alongside wraparound support services. Through grant sponsorships and community engagement, we fund sustainable housing for these future leaders, allowing them to focus fully on their studies and careers.

We also create mentorship and network opportunities that build bridges between professionals and students of color, ensuring long-term impact and uplift across communities.

By investing in the housing stability of the students, the PDD housing initiative is investing in a more equitable, diverse, and empowered future for healthcare, legal services and public leadership.
